Why Cake in a Can?
I love cake and as a designer I love 3D cans and their packaging qualities and potential.

How and when did you start The Food Ministry?
The Food Ministry was officially set up in April 2013. I didn't actually start trading though until Oct last year, however, the idea had been sitting around my office for some 5-6 years just waiting for me to get around to it.

Who or what is your inspiration?  My love of cake and post war ration packaging was my main inspirations. It was my wife that finally kicked my arse into gear to actually do something about it.

Is it true the Easter Bunny is using Cake in a Can this Easter?  It was Santa who convinced the Easter Bunny to give them a go.

What’s your favourite flavour and why?
Chocolate, closely followed by chocolate.

What’s a typical day for you?
Get up early to see what orders are in and then have cake for breakfast with the family.

Do you have any tips for foodpreneurs?
Get the product right and make sure you love it. Packaging is vital.

If you had to eat cake all day what type of cake would you choose?
I luckily have the opportunity to eat, sleep and dream cake. I breakfast with generally chocolate cake however in the evening I add whisky to the coffee cake instead of water and wow!

What is your favourite ingredient, the one you couldn't live without?
As Michael said in the film, 'never let it be said you can have too much sugar!

Who is your favourite foodie? (Be it enthusiast, professional or novice)
My expert patissier who develops all of the flavours.

What is your favourite cookbook?
I don't do cook books. If you can't 'Just Add Water' then I'm confused.

If you could banish one ingredient to Room 101 what would it be?
Fennel, blagh!

If castaway on a desert island which 3 things would you take with you and why?
I like this question but generally always cheat with the answer as I have a friend who was in the Special Forces and I'd take him with me, he can make shelters, gather and cook food. Satellite TV would also be nice and of course a helicopter just on the off chance I didn't want to stay [he can fly them too!].

If you had one wish what would it be?
Another 2 wishes! I told you I cheat.
